This stunning cellist design captures a graceful woman absorbed in her music, her flowing burgundy and rose gown pooling around her in sweeping waves of deep crimson, magenta, and blush pink. She plays a warm amber cello against a glowing cream moon, framed by cool sage and dusty blue geometric panels and flanked by elegant dark green foliage, all bordered in rich dark red. It is a deeply satisfying piece to build, watching the musician emerge piece by piece from the contrast of warm instrument tones against the cool, mosaic-like background.

The smallest size is included for anyone who would like that option - a small wall hanging or a cushion front. Do note the pieces are a bit small at that size: many stitchers merge a couple of neighbouring pieces cut from the same fabric, or leave the tiniest accents out, and the design still reads beautifully.

🎨 ABOUT THE COLOURS: this design uses a generous palette - the gown is built from sweeping bands of burgundy, rose and plum, and the cello from several warm wood tones, and those layers are what give the piece its depth. Most of the shades are used in small accents, and the Fabric Colour Chart tells you exactly which ones need real yardage and which need only a scrap, so much of it can come straight from your stash.
